Couple hurt when thrown from their motorcycles

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  A Steuben County couple got hurt when they were thrown from the motorcycles they were riding Monday afternoon.

Just after 3:00 p.m., deputies were called to State Road 120 near the intersection of County Road 925 East in rural Clear Lake Township.

Investigators determined Brenda Hook, 60, and Douglas Hook, 53, both of Bristol, were riding their motorcycles westbound on State Road 120, when both drifted off the north side as they went around a curve. They lost control on the soft dirt shoulder and were thrown off their motorcycles.

They were flown via helicopter to a Fort Wayne hospital with serious injuries. Police said they were wearing helmets, which reduced the severity of their injuries.
