Tyler Eifert to have ankle surgery, likely out three months

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Bishop Dwenger graduate Tyler Eifert will have surgery on his left ankle and will likely miss most of the Bengals off-season activities.

Eifert injured the ankle playing at the Pro Bowl in January. According to national reports the injury hasn’t healed according to plan.

The surgery is being described as a “minimal procedure” with three months of recovery anticipated.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer the Bengals are likely to open training camp the last week of July. They open the 2016 regular season September 11 against the Jets.

Eifert is coming off a break-out season where he snagged 52 receptions for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns.
