IPFW’s Trevor Storie named Summit League Pitcher of the Week

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – IPFW senior baseball pitcher Trevor Storie/Huntington has been named The Summit League Pitcher of the Week for his performance May 16-22.  The right-hander pitched 7.0 shutout innings during a 2-0 victory against Western Illinois May 20 for his team-best seventh win this season, yielding four hits with five strikeouts and two walks.  This is Storie’s second Summit League Pitcher of the Week award earned this season and in his career.

Storie is 7-5 this season with a 4.02 earned run average, making 14 appearances/starts with 56 strikeouts over 85.0 innings.  He leads IPFW in games started, wins, innings pitched and runners picked off (7), and has limited opponents to a .244 batting average, allowing just 14 extra base hits.

IPFW (31-24, 14-16 Summit League) has earned the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Summit League Baseball Championship, May 25-28, at J.L. Johnson Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and opens tournament play against No. 2 Omaha (28-26, 17-12 Summit League) in game one of the tournament on Wednesday, May 25, at 1 p.m. ET.
