Embach, Komets earn crucial game three win

ALLEN, Texas (WANE) – Mike Embach tallied both of Fort Wayne’s goals as the Komets earned a critical win in game three of the Western Conference Finals, beating the Allen Americans 2-1 on Thursday night.

With the win the Komets avoid an 0-3 hole in the series after dropping games one and two to Allen at the Coliseum last week.

Embach scored just 4:11 into the first period on a rebound off a Cody Corbett slap shot. It was Embach’s third goal of the postseason.

The veteran forward lit the lamp again in the second period for his fourth goal of the playoffs.

Allen’s Gary Steffes would score with less than nine minutes remaining in the third period, but it would be the Americans’ lone tally of the night.

Pat Nagle stopped 27-of-28 shots for the Komets.

Game four is slated for Saturday night in Allen at 8:05 p.m.
