Funeral arrangements set for Steve McElvene

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Funeral arrangements have been made for former basketball standout Steve McElvene who passed away suddenly last Thursday at the age of 20.

A public viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 20 at Abundant Life Church, 3301 E. Coliseum Blvd. in Fort Wayne.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m., also at Abundant Life Church.

The University held a memorial prayer service Monday in the Immaculate Conception Chapel on the University of Dayton campus for Steve and his family. WANE-TV was there in Dayton as students, faculty, and the Dayton community remembered the former Flyer.

Memorial contributions may be made through GoFundMe to assist Steve’s family with expenses.
