Concordia alum Austin Thoms to lead Cadet boys basketball program

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Concordia High School graduate Austin Thoms is returning to his alma mater to take over the boys basketball program.

Athletic director Dean Doerffler made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

Thoms graduated from Concordia in 2006, where he played football and basketball for the Cadets. He has spent time coaching at IPFW, Hawaii Pacific University, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Northern Colorado.

Thoms replaces Tim Reinking, who stepped down in March as Concordia’s head coach. Reinking led the Cadets in two stints – from 1997 through 2007 and from 2014 to 2016.

The Cadets finished 10-12 last season.
