Fort Wayne Music Festival to feature three evenings of entertainment

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Headwaters Park in downtown Fort Wayne will be the setting for the first ever Fort Wayne Music Festival powered by Sweetwater on May 12, 13 and 14. Some of the featured acts set to perform include Eve 6, Bubba Sparxxx and Thompson Square.

Organizers came up with the idea for the three day event following the success of Electric Spring and Irish Fest which attracted approximately 9,500 people over two days in May of last year.

The Fort Wayne Music Festival gets underway with 90s Night on Thursday May 12 with Eve 6 and Bubba Sparxxx along with regional tribute bands performing hits from Nirvana, Sublime, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Matchbox Twenty among others. Tickets for the event are $8 in advance, and $10 at the door. Children under 12 will be admitted for free and the event will run from 5 p.m. until midnight.

Electric Spring is the theme for Friday with pop, top 40, electronic and dance music featured with tickets costing $10 in advance. There are also VIP tickets available. For details check the purchase tickets section of the Fort Wayne Music Festival web site.  This event also runs from 5 p.m. until midnight.

Country Jam rounds out the three day festival on Saturday with performances by Thompson Square, Chuck Wicks and Josh Thompson as well as several regional performers.  Tickets start at $15. Country Jam runs from 4 p.m. until midnight.

Food, concessions and spirits will be available all three days and 10% of all funds generated from the music festival will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne to help build the new Sweetwater Studio inside of the organization’s Fairfield Avenue location.
