Vacant house catches fire for 2nd time

Firefighters keep an eye on a house after it caught fire Tuesday morning.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A vacant Fort Wayne house caught fire early Tuesday morning after it was damaged in a fire last week.

Fire crews were called to the home at around 12 a.m. in the 7100 block of Antebellum Drive.

When they got to the house, firefighters found flames coming from the attached garage. They got the fire under control in about 18 minutes.

The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage in Tuesday’s fire. It caught fire just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 21.

After the first fire, neighbors said it was the second home in the neighborhood to catch on fire, which firefighters later confirmed. Officials then said it was too early to tell if those fires were related and if they were intentionally. They’re continuing to investigate.
