FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne firefighters battled two separate house fires Monday afternoon.
The first broke out just after 3:00pm at a home on Hunters Knoll Place on the city’s north side. When firefighters got there they saw heavy smoke at the back of house and discovered flames coming from the deck and sunroom. No one was home at the time. Crews had the fire under control in about seven minutes and were able to keep it out of the main part of the house.
Just an hour later, firefighters were called to Buell Drive. That’s on the city’s east side, just east of Foster Park. One person was in the house and was already out by the time crews got there. Minor fire damage was reported in the kitchen and one bedroom, with moderate smoke damage throughout the house.
