Southwest Conservation Club building damaged in fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Fort Wayne Fire Department is investigating a fire at the Southwest Conservation Club after the building was damaged Friday night.

According to Fire Chief Eric Lahey, around 10 p.m. crews responded to a report of a fire at 5703 Bluffton Road.

Multiple fire units helped stop the flames. Lahey said the building sustained heavy smoke, fire and water damage. However, it was not a total loss, he explained.

Lahey said investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire and added it may have been in the kitchen area.

No injuries were reported.
