Police look for suspect in armed robbery at Family Dollar

ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE)  Police say a man walked into the Family Dollar store in Angola, pointed a gun at clerks, and demanded money.

Investigators are looking for anyone who was in the area of the store on North Wayne Street between 3:30 and 3:50 Wednesday afternoon and may have seen something that would help them locate the suspect.

He’s described as being in his late 30s to early 40s, 5-6”, 150 lbs. with a medium build. He was wearing a red stocking cap, blue coat, blue jeans and a pair of white sunglasses. He was not wearing a mask and witnesses said it appeared as though he had acne scars on his face.

The suspect ordered the clerks at gunpoint to remove the money from the cash registers and then instructed them to get on the ground. Customers in the store and were able to call 911.

Police said the man left the store and ran northbound.

No one was hurt.
