MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — Police have arrested one of two 17-year-old boys wanted for questioning in a Muncie homicide.
According to police, Mason O’Neal turned himself in Tuesday night. He was booked on preliminary charges of murder and robbery related to 24-year-old Rafael Rodriguez.
Police are still searching for the second teen, Marcus Wilson II, connected to Rodriguez’s death.
Two others have already been arrested in connection with the crime: 21-year-old Logan May and 20-year-old Cody Buck. Both are facing preliminary charges of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery resulting in death.
Court documents have detailed that May admitted to police she went to a home on the 5200 block of West Canterbury Drive on Sunday morning with Buck and two juveniles with the intent to rob Rodriguez. According to the document, May said she told police she persuaded someone inside to answer the door then the two juveniles pushed her out of the way. She said that’s when she heard gunshots.
After the shooting, May told police she drove off with the three others, the document said. It also said May told police she supplied one of the suspects with a black revolver.
Buck told police he stayed in the car during the shooting and the plan was to steal Rodriguez’s drugs, according to the document. May said killing Rodriguez was never a part of the plan, according to a court document.
Police said Wilson is 5’10”, 165 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. His ears are pierced and his arms have tattoos.
