Auburn police investigating convenience store robbery

Two men reportedly held up the Auburn Pride/Valero convenience store in Auburn late Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police in Auburn are investigating a reported robbery at a convenience store late Wednesday.

According to Auburn Police Chief Martin McCoy, two men walked into the Auburn Pride/Valero convenience store at 1900 Wayne St. around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The men, both white, were dressed in dark hooded sweatshirts and bandanas over their faces.

Once inside, one of the men demanded cash from the clerk while the other walked behind the counter and stole cigarettes, McCoy said. The man then ran off with cash and the cigarettes.

McCoy said the men never showed a weapon.
