Police: Medical condition to blame for US 30 crash

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (WANE) – An investigation by the Columbia City Police Department into a multiple-vehicle crash Tuesday evening that forced the closure of U.S. 30 for about 90 minutes Tuesday has determined the semi driver who triggered the incident was suffering from a medical condition when his rig traveled into oncoming traffic and initially struck two vehicles and then a third before coming to a stop. Investigators don’t believe the semi was traveling very fast at the time of the collisions.
