Moped, SUV crash leaves 1 critically hurt

LEESBURG, Ind. (WANE) – A moped driver is in critical condition after hitting an SUV on Old Road 15 near Leesburg Sunday evening.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Bradley A. Dye, 34, Warsaw, crossed the center-line and struck an SUV driven by Adam Tharp, 31, Leesburg. Dye’s moped hit Tharp’s driver-side door which threw him from the vehicle to the ground.

Dye was air lifted to a Fort Wayne hospital and was listed in critical condition. Investigators said Dye suffered multiple injuries.

Tharp was not hurt.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. near County Road 600 North.

The incident is under investigation.
