FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – For the second straight year the Memorial Cup belongs to Carroll. The Chargers edged out rival Leo 1-0 in the Fort Wayne Hockey League championship.
Cam Boyce – the son of former Komets Ian Boyce – scored the game winner with 53.1 seconds to go. Goaltender Camden Whitney made 16 saves in the shutout effort.
Carroll saw their season come to a close over the weekend, going 1-2 in 4A tournament play at Canlan this weekend.
Leo, who plays in 3A, will advance to next week’s state championship down in Indianapolis.
