Make Music Fort Wayne looking for business, musicians to get in the act

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  June 21 marks the summer solstice and the longest day of the year. Since 1982, it’s also the date when Make Music Day takes place.  The first Make Music Day took place in France and since then it’s expanded to 700 cities in 120 countries.  One of those cities is Fort Wayne and organizers are looking for area residents to take part in the 2016 edition.

The day-long free event, presented locally by Sweetwater, WANE-TV and several other sponsors, features a variety of hands-on musical activities, highlighted by live performances at venues all over Fort Wayne, including downtown. Organizers are currently looking for downtown businesses to host performances on the evening of Make Music Day.

Organizers are also looking for musical acts to take part.  Anyone interested can check out the Make Music Fort Wayne web site or the Make Music Fort Wayne Facebook page.
