FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Prairie Farms is giving customers the chance to win a sweet Easter treat. The dairy company is holding a contest featuring a special release of flavored milk. All three involve one piece of candy: Peeps.
Three contest winners will be selected every day until March 11. They will get a chance to try all three different flavors of Prairie Farms Peeps Milk:
- Chocolate Marshmallow flavored Reduced Fat Milk
- Marshmallow flavored Reduced Fat Milk
- Easter Egg Nog
- Orange Creme flavored milk (available only at Walmart)
Prairie Farms releases seasonal milk a couple times each year. Customers can only buy the Peeps inspired milk in 11 Midwest states, including Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Prairie Farms is farmer owned. The Fort Wayne Plant gets its milk from area farms within 90 miles, according to Chuck McQuaig, general manager of Prairie Farms’ Fort Wayne division.
“Not only do we produce the milk, we know the farmers the milk comes from,” he explained.
The milk is free of artificial growth hormones and has no high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners. It also doesn’t take long to go from farmers to stores.
McQuaig said the milk comes to the plant on Friday, and often times, “it will be processed that day and in stores Saturday.”
