3/2 Boys basketball sectional recap

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) – South Adams edged county rival Adams Central 62-60 while Bluffton bested conference foe Woodlan 73-48 in 2A sectional play Wednesday night at Bluffton High School.


In the first game of the night South Adams’ Jared Grabau led the way with 30 points while Marcus Teeter chipped in with 13.

Adams Central was led by Jonah Tijerina with 26 points.

In the nightcap Bluffton’s Grant Prible netted 21 points to guide the Tigers to victory. Aaron Sturgeon added 13 points while Philip Pearson scored 12.

Woodlan was led by Andrew Krahn and Austin Fancher who each scored 13.

South Adams and Bluffton will square off in the semifinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m. following the 6 p.m. game between Eastside and Canterbury.


In the first of three games on the docket due to Tuesday’s weather postponement it was Whitko over Bremen 80-69. The Wildcats move on to face host Westview at 6 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.

Prairie Heights bested LaVille in the sandwich game of the evening by a score of 62-53.

In the late game it was Mason Smith with a buzzer-beating jumper as Central Noble downed Fremont 57-55.

Prairie Heights and Central Noble will face each other Friday at 7:30 p.m.


At Manchester High School Northfield took the early game of the night, beating Cass 51-46.

In the late game 2A no. 4 Oak Hill trumped Rochester 61-23.

Oak Hill and Northfield will play at 7:30 p.m. Friday after the 6 p.m. game between Manchester and Southwood.
