4 arrested after police track down origin of meth odor

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WANE) Four people were arrested early Friday morning after police from several departments responded to a report of suspicious activity in Kendallville.

Officers with the Kendallville Police Department, the Avilla Police Department and Indiana State Police were able to determine the odor of meth being manufactured was coming from a home located at 1902 Dowling street after walking around the neighborhood not long after midnight.

The officers contacted the individuals inside and after a search warrant was obtained, part of a working meth lab were found along with the materials to make meth. The Kendallville Fire Department was then called in to secure the home due to the dangerous nature of the chemicals found inside.

The following individuals were arrested and face charges of Manufacture of MEth, Possession of Meth Possession of Precursors with intent to manufacture and Maintaining a Common Nuisance:

  • Chace M. Gamble of Kendallville
  • Jarrod D. Haines of Kendallville
  • Cody A. Gates of Kendallville
  • Kirstin D. Callahan of Orland
