Wabash College on lockdown, police searching for double-homicide suspect

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Wabash College has been put on lockdown and the suspect wanted in connection to Zionsville double homicide is the cause.

Boone County Sheriff’s Office said they are looking for 61-year-old Lucius Oliver Hamilton III. He is described as a white man, 6 feet tall, 195 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

Wabash College’s security confirmed that afternoon classes are canceled and the campus is currently on lockdown.

Hamilton was last known to be driving a white 2013 Dodge full size van with Indiana Wabash plate WA25. The van was checked out from Wabash College around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, where Hamilton works.

Hamilton was last seen on Wabash College Wednesday morning. Multiple reports believe he may be headed toward Tippecanoe County, but that is unconfirmed.

“This continues to be an active, fluid investigation. We have reached out to the U.S. Marshals Service, FBI and TSA who are assisting with this investigation,” Sgt. Chris Burcham said. “We consider Mr. Hamilton to be armed and dangerous. If this person or van is seen, we ask that you immediately call 911.”

A search of Wabash College is underway, but officers do not believe he is in the area.
