FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Wayne High School senior Auston Robertson is keeping his options open regarding his football career after verbally committing to Michigan State last June.
Robertson announced on his Twitter account Wednesday morning – the morning of national signing day – that Michigan State was “still my number one” but that he was reopening his options
He messaged WANE-TV sports director Glenn Marini earlier in the morning saying he would not be signing on Wednesday and that he needed more time.
Robertston competed in the International Bowl, a high school all-star game, this past weekend.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Robertson is ranked by multiple recruiting websites as one of the top three seniors in Indiana.
A story published in the Detroit Free Press also says Robertson is facing a misdemeanor battery charge.
