FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A talented group of seniors at Bishop Luers signed to play college sports on Wednesday afternoon.
Quarterback Noah Wezensky will play football at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. A 2014 WANE-TV “Fab 15” selection, Wezensky battled injuries as a senior with his final prep campaign coming to a close after suffering a torn ACL in week six at Carroll. In parts of four games from 2015 Wezensky threw for 563 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for one score. He went into the season on pace to become the SAC’s all-time leading passer. He ended his prep career with 5,149 yards passing and 46 touchdowns. Luers grad James Knapke holds still the conference record with 5,983 yards.
Fellow football standout Justin Dippold will continue his career at Hillsdale College. For his career Dippold caught 31 passes for 666 yards and four touchdowns as a tight end. He also rushed 31 times for 275 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, he registered 18 tackles and two interceptions as a senior.
Madeline Reimbold will continue her soccer career at Ohio Dominican. As a senor Reimbold tallied 14 goals and seven assists in 15 games.
Jake Shifflett will play soccer for the University of Findlay.
Nick Carroll and Brandon Diss will both continue playing baseball in college. Carroll signed with Spring Arbor while Diss selected Bethel College.
