FISHERS, Ind. (WANE) Businessman Jim Wallace will again seek the Indiana Governor’s mansion.
Wallace, who ran unsuccessfully for the office as a Republican in 2012, declared his candidacy Wednesday in an emailed statement. He’ll seek the Libertarian nomination.
A graduate of West Point and Harvard Business School, the Army veteran is a former Fishers Town Council and Hamilton County Council member. He founded TWG Capital and is the current president of The Wellesley Group in Indianapolis.
“The divide in Washington is crazy, and the same party politics has cast Indiana in an embarrassing light,” Wallace wrote in his declaration. “It’s reached the point of complete disregard for personal freedom, and we are all frustrated by this.”
Incumbent Republican Gov. Mike Pence is seeking a second term. As he did in 2012, Democrat John Gregg is challenging him.
