BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) – Standout running back D’Wayne Eskridge is heading to Kalamazoo to continue his football career after signing with Western Michigan University on Wednesday.
Eskridge battled through injuries to rush 103 times for 1,020 yards (a 9.9 yard average) and 16 touchdowns as a senior.
He tallied 2,192 rushing yards and rushing TDs in the last two seasons.
Eskridge also won the state title in in the 200 meter dash as a junior.
Eskridge was selected to WANE’s “Fab 15 Next 15” as one of the top players in the area this past fall.
He joins three other local products on the WMU football roster – Homestead’s Zach Terrell, South Side’s Nathan Braster, and Carroll’s Justin Tranquill.
