GARRETT, Ind. (WANE) – Canterbury bested Leo while Bishop Dwenger outlasted Garrett in overtime during 3A girls sectional play Wednesday night at Paul Bateman Gymnasium.
3A AT GARRETT
In the first game of the night Mason VanHouten netted 21 points while Alexa Habig tallied 19 as Canterbury bested Leo 57-45. Abbie Heischman scored 16 to lead Leo while Daisha Green added 13.
Bishop Dwenger took the nightcap over host Garrett 42-40 in overtime.
The Saints will now face Canterbury at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the sectional semifinals following the Angola/Concordia game at 6 p.m.
2A AT SOUTH ADAMS
Eastside bested Churubusco 44-30 while South Adams defeated Woodlan 50-39 to advance on Wednesday night.
The Blazers and Starfires will now play each other at 7:30 p.m. Friday after the Blackford/Bluffton game at 6 p.m.
2A AT CENTRAL NOBLE
Fremont’s Shae Rhonehouse scored 26 points as the Eagles topped Prairie Heights 61-42 in the early game on Tuesday night. Shelby Fish led Prairie Heights with 16 points.
In the late game it was Westview over LaVille 51-41. Grace Hales netted 17 points for the Warriors while Maria McCoy chipped in with 12. Aryn Eash paced LaVille with 13.
Fremont and Westview will square off Friday night at 7:30 p.m. after the Central Noble/Whitko game at 6 p.m.
2A AT ROCHESTER
Southwood edged Cass 46-43 in overtime while Rochester beat Northfield 50-36 on Wednesday night.
Southwood and Rochester will play each other at 7:30 p.m. Friday following the 6 p.m. game between Wabash and Oak Hill.
