Norwell football coach Jeff Miller announces retirement

OSSIAN, Ind. (WANE) – After 24 years on the Norwell football coaching staff – the last 16 as head coach – Jeff Miller has retired from the sidelines.

A Norwell grad, Miller was involved in seven of the program’s eight sectional championships (1980 as a player – QB/DB, 1994 and 1999 as an assistant coach and 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2014 as the head coach).

Miller’s best team went to the 3A state championship game in 2006. He was named the Class 3A coach of the year that season. He led the Knights to their first NHC football title that fall and followed it with a second conference title in 2009.

More recently, the Knights won the program’s first 4A sectional title in 2014.

In 16 seasons leading Norwell his teams went 89-93.
