FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police are searching for the man who robbed a Chase bank late Thursday morning.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers were sent to the bank located at 204 East Pettit Avenue after a 911 call was made just before 11 a.m.
Officers who arrived on the scene were told by bank employees that the man had entered the bank with a note indicating he was armed and that he demanded cash. After being handed cash, the robber left the bank on foot. Besides the bank employees, there were two customers inside when the robbery took place.
The robber is described as being either Hispanic or African-American with a light complexion. He was wearing a gray hoodie which was pulled tightly over his head. Over the hoodie was a black coat with shoulder straps that ran parallel to the shoulder seams. There was also a chrome or silver fastener at the end of each shoulder strap. Over the left breast pocket of the coat was a silver or chrome zipper and the coat cuffs had a chrome or silver button.
Police believe that because the robbery took place in an area with lots of businesses, someone may have seen him leave the area or get into a vehicle.
