Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies were called around 9 a.m. Monday on a report of a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Hasse Court and County Road 1000 north. There, Corporal Travis Shively found a white 1997 Pontiac Grand Am that had left the roadway and slammed into a tree, Sgt. Chad Hill said.

Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello was called to the scene and found the driver, 44-year-old Ronnie S. Zentz, had died from blunt force trauma.

Hill said Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. members believe Zentz had was eastbound on County Road 1000 North in his Grand Am when it slid as it entered into a curve. At that point, the vehicle veered off the roadway and hit a tree.

The crash is still under investigation, Hill said.
