LEO, Ind. (WANE) – Morgan Sanderson’s last minute layup with :05 left on the clock proved to be the difference maker for Leo on Monday night as the Lions squeezed out a 41-39 win over Bishop Luers.
Sanderson finished with eight points for Leo. Abby Heischmann led Leo with 12 points. Daisha Green recorded a triple double in the win with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks. Emma Wolfe of Bishop Luers led all scorers with 16 points.
After dropping their first game of the season to Benet Academy of Illinois on Saturday the Homestead Spartans finished up the Chicagoland showcase with a 71-64 win over Morgan Park of Illinois. Madisen Parker led the Spartans with 31 points. Karissa McLaughlin had 26.
