Art gallery features local Instagram users

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) An art gallery is offering a new exhibit that features photographs from local Instagram users. Exposure: Instagram, The World’s Largest Gallery goes until Jan. 15.

Jennifer Ford Art’s exhibit features artwork from Instagram users, varying from food, to car parts and landscapes.

“We actually noticed that there were so many extremely talented people in Fort Wayne that use photography as their medium and they have followings all over the world, some of them, over 50,000 people are following them, right here in Fort Wayne. So, it was amazing and we knew we wanted to show this to a broader audience in a physical space,” Jennifer Ford, gallery owner said.

The gallery’s director, Bridget O’Reilly, reached out to about 40 Instagram users.

“They were definitely caught by surprise but they were all really excited and receptive which is the best thing about Fort Wayne and these prints are only $50. So, I know art galleries can be intimidating sometimes but we really wanted to make this show just as accessible as Instagram is,” O’Reilly said.

Each artist is displaying six prints for sale from their feeds and has the opportunity to present objects on display that relate to their online feed.

Jennifer Ford Art is located at 3223 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne. For more information about the gallery and its upcoming exhibits, click here.
