BERNE, Ind. (WANE) – The South Adams girls basketball team is off to a historic start to their season. The Starfires are 10-0 for the first time in program history and sit on top of the ACAC standings through the first month of the season.
South Adams’ latest win came on Thursday night when they took down county rival Adams Central 60-40 on their home court. The win also marked their third conference victory of the season.
The Starfires biggest test of the season came on November 24th when they defeated former ACAC powerhouse Leo 52-50.
Maintaining an unblemished record will be a difficult task this week with South Adams hitting the road for three games this week. First they’ll visit 5-3 Randolph Southern on Tuesday. Then they’ll head to Delta for a match up with the Eagles Thursday. Their final game of the week will be at ACAC rival Jay County on Saturday. The Patriots are 9-2 overall this season and 3-0 in conference play.
