New law allows for liquor sales on Christmas

(WANE)  Thanks to a new law that took effect this past July, liquor can now be sold on Christmas at retail stores as well as bars and taverns.  The law allows for liquor sales Sunday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. the following day.  Carry-out sales are not allowed on Sundays.

Because 2016 is a leap year, Christmas will fall on a Sunday, meaning only on-premise consumption will be allowed.
