DECATUR, Ind. (WANE) A Decatur woman was arrested Monday after an investigation into a package she brought to an inmate at the New Castle prison.
Sergeant John Bowling with the Indiana State Police said on Sept. 6, Ann Springer, 21, was visiting the inmate and attempted to pass along a package. Officers confiscated the package and found a small amount of marijuana and what is believed to be Suboxone strips, which are used to treat opiate withdrawals.
Springer was arrested on a felony warrant for trafficking with an inmate, a level 5 felony. She was arrested at her home and was taken to the Henry County Jail.
The investigation was turned over to state police by prison staff in mid-November.
