Police: Speeder clocked at 115 mph says he was headed to Steak ‘n Shake

MUNCIE, Ind. (WANE) An Indiana State Trooper pulled over a Ford Escape Saturday morning after he clocked it going 115 miles per hour on a state highway in Muncie.

Once stopped, the driver told the trooper he and his three passengers were on their way to a nearby Steak ‘n Shake restaurant.

Griffin Davis, 19, of Yorktown was believed to be under the influence of marijuana and alcohol at the time of the traffic stop. He was transported to the Delaware County Jail and charged with Operating While Intoxicated with a passenger Under 18 years of age, Level 6 Felony, Operating While Intoxicated, Endangering, Class” A” Misdemeanor and Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, Class ”C” Misdemeanor.

Avis also was ticketed for speeding well over the 55 mph limit.
