Police find child in home during drug raid

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Two people were arrested Friday after a drug raid where police seized 180 grams of synthetic marijuana, commonly known as spice.

The Fort Wayne Police Department Emergency Services Team and the Vice and Narcotics Bureau served a search warrant around 8:20 a.m. in the 600 block of Third Street.

Sgt. Greg Stier said after finding spice, Jayson Gerald Brothers Sr., 26, and Julene Marie Brothers, 42, were arrested. They both face charges of maintaining a common nuisance and dealing a synthetic or lookalike drug, Level 6 felonies.

Allen County Child Protective Services was contacted to care for a 7-year-old child at the home. Fort Wayne Animal Control took custody of two cats that were found during the search.

Stier expects additional arrests to come from this investigation.
