Game of the Week Preview: Northrop vs. Bishop Luers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – SAC play tips off on Friday night. Over at Bishop Luers the Knights are hoping to make a statement with a win over a talented Northrop team.

Northrop and Bishop Luers finished in third place in the SAC last season.

Under new head coach Rod Chamble the Bruins have  gone 3-2 in the first few weeks of the season. Two of those wins come over Northeast 8 powerhouses DeKalb and Columbia City.

Bishop Luers has only two games under their belt going 1-1. The Knights have added talented freshman Sydney Curry. The 6’5 power forward  is regarded as one of the top prospects in his class along with North Side star freshman Keion Broks Jr.

Northrop senior Jagger Surface will be going up against the freshman phenom. Surface put up 21 points in Northrop’s loss to Blackhawk Christian on Tuesday. Richard Robertson is also off to an impressive start scoring 19 points in the Bruins.

The Northrop-Bishop Luers game will be part of a girls-boys doubleheader. The girls get going at 6:00PM and the boys will follow around 8:00pm.
