Fuel Use The Force To Top Komets In Overtime

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The force was not with the Komets on Friday night. The K’s fell to the Indy Fuel 3-2 in overtime on Star Wars night at the Coliseum.

Fort Wayne was the first to light the lamp. Nikita Kashirsky scored his third goal of the season in the first period to give the Komets a 1-0 lead. The Fuel tied the game minutes later off a goal scored by Cody Sharib.

Alex Lavoie put Indy out in front in the 2nd period. Minutes later Komets defenseman Will Weber scored his first goal of the season to tie the game, again. After a scoreless third period the game would go to overtime.

2:16 into the bonus period Dylan Clarke ended the game with an unassisted goal to give Indy the 3-2 win.

Back from his one game stint with AHL Grand Rapids Pat Nagle made 28 saves for the Komets.

The Fuel and Komets meet again tomorrow, this time in Indianapolis at 7:30 p.m.
