Two hospitalized after crash in Avilla

AVILLA, Ind. (WANE) Two young men were hospitalized after a crash in Avilla Sunday.

Deputies with the Noble County Sheriff’s Department were called to Old State Road 3 and Baseline Road around 12:15 p.m.

Investigators determined a truck driven by Tristin M. Stocksdale, 18, of Churubusco was headed east at a speed too fast to avoid a collision. As the truck attempted to stop at an intersection, it travelled into the path of another truck.

Stocksdale drove into the right side of the second truck, damaging both vehicles.  Stocksdale complained of head pain and was transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne along with his passenger, Skyler King, 19 of Churubusco. King suffered chest pain.

The driver of the second truck, Heather Jones, 32, of Fort Wayne was not injured.

An officer cited Stocksdale for driving a speed too fast to avoid collision.
