FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Seven swimming standouts and a cross country and track star put the pen to paper on Thursday signing to play the sport they love at the college level.
Courtney Kresl signed to swim at Purdue. Kresl came in 7th place in the 50 Free at the IHSAA Swimming and Diving State Championship. Purdue’s womens swim team placed 5th in the Big Ten last year.
Zoe Toscos will continue her swimming career at Kenyon College, a perennial NCAA DIII swimming powerhouse. Toscos races as a part of Carroll’s relay teams and was a part of the 200 freestyle relay team that finished 7th in the state last year,
Mykenzie Kostka will join Indiana State’s new women’s swim team in 2016. Kostka is sprint freestyle and butterflier and helped the Carroll 200 yard freestyle relay team finish 7th in the state last season.
Larissa Nanna signed to swim at Siena College in Albany, New York. Nanna won a sectional title in 2015 in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Will Schrensky will take his talents to West Lafayette joining the Purdue swim team. Schrensky tied for 3rd place in the 100 yard breast stroke at the IHSAA State Championship and swam breaststroke on Carroll’s 7th place 200 yard medley relay.
Teammate, Ryan Huizing is heading to the Ivy Leagues to swim for the Yale Bulldogs. Huizing finished second to Snider’s Gabriel Swardson in the 100 yard butterfly.
Zack Sagan signed with Division 1 University of Evansville. Sagan won a sectional title last year in the 100 yard freestyle.
Cross Country and Track and Field Star Cameron Clements signed his National Letter of Intent to run at Indiana. Clements came in 6th place in the IHSAA Cross Country State Championship this past season.
