Police: Woman says she was carjacked driving for Uber

An Uber driver was allegedly carjacked behind the O'Sullivans bar.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  A woman told police she was driving for Uber and had parked behind O’Sullivan’s Italian Pub after it had closed when a  man walked up to her van and stuck the barrel of a gun through a cracked window and told her to get out.

The incident took place early Saturday morning according to an incident report filed by the Fort Wayne Police Department.  The woman told an officer she was thrown to the ground as she opened the door.  The gunman then drove off.  A short time later police received a call that a van had hit a pole and the driver had driven off. Just minutes after that a report was received about an armed robbery at the Marathon station just across the street from O’Sullivan’s on Main Street.

The woman said initially she tried to call for help at O’Sullivan’s, but since it was closed she ran to the Marathon.

An officer then drove the woman home.
