A Vietnam War veteran, Osheskie served as mayor and city council president of Waynesfield, Ohio. He ran for Fort Wayne mayor in the 2015 Republican primary on a business-retention and common sense-leadership platform but lost the nomination to Mitch Harper.

Osheskie is survived by two sons, Fred Jr. and Frank, five grandchildren, and a sister, Patricia.
