Hopes High At Homestead At Girls Basketball Tips Off

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Team all across Indiana hit the basketball court as the 2015-16 girls season officially began with the first practice of the year on Monday.

At Homestead, the Spartans are coming off a 26-3 season that saw the program advance to the 4A state title game. While last year’s team fell to Columbus North 62-56 in the title game, making it back to Bankers Life Fieldhouse is the goal again this year.

With Josie Fisher and Grace German graduated, junior Karissa McGlaughlin and senior Lindley Kistler will be counted on to lead this team. McGlaughlin recently made a verbal commitment to the University of Florida, while Kistler has verbally committed to play at IPFW.

Savannah Buck and Madison Parker will be asked to fill bigger roles this year as well.

Homestead’s first game is November 14 at Wayne – now a conference game as the Spartans and Carroll transition to the SAC this season.
