Harper talks business, Legacy Funds at Rotary Club meeting

Mitch Harper speaks at the Rotary Club's weekly meeting at Parkview Field.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Mayoral candidate Mitch Harper spoke at Monday’s Rotary Club meeting in Fort Wayne. The Republican candidate’s address came one week after Mayor Tom Henry spoke at the meeting.

Harper said it was a good time for him to re-emphasize issues he’s stressed throughout his campaign, including a focus on neighborhoods and growing the city’s economy.

Harper said, “that means jobs that add value, that make things, that bring in dollars from either goods sold throughout the country or services that are made.”

He also spoke about the city’s Legacy Fund. He said as he’s speaking to people door to door they want to see that the funds remain “far into the future for the next generation to offer up their ideas.”

The Rotary Club is made up of 150 business and community leaders. Election candidates were invited to speak at its weekly meeting held at Parkview Field.
