Summit City staple ready with drinks and dogs for block party

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Main Street in downtown Fort Wayne will be closed Saturday for an annual block party that celebrates one of the city’s most beloved restaurants.

Fort Wayne’s Famous Coney Island has been a staple of the city for more than a century. Serving up Coney dogs and bottled Coca-Cola, the hot dog stand hosts its annual block party this weekend. There will be live music, a beer tent bounce houses and a classic car show.

It’s a free event the whole family can enjoy, according to Cony Island.

The block party goes from noon Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday at its shop located at 131 W. Main Street in Fort Wayne.

Parking can be found on the street. Downtown metered parking is free on Saturdays.
