FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – This week’s Highlight Zone Game of the Week puts two Victory Bell contenders up against one another, to see where they stand midway through the regular season. (4-0) Snider will host (3-1) Carroll at Spuller Stadium, and both teams are eager to prove themselves.
As SAC newcomers, Carroll is looking forward to going up against a perennial conference powerhouse.
As the only undefeated team left in the conference, Snider wants to show that they have the talent and dedication to stay on top of the SAC.
The Panther possess one of the most potent offenses in the state. Led by QB Isaac Stiebling, the Panthers are averaging 54.7 points per game. The Chargers also have a number of weapons on offense, including their QB Aidan Smith, who led Carroll to a comeback win over rival Homestead last week.
This is just the third time ever that these two teams have met. The last time they played was in 2004, when Snider shut out Carroll 51-0 in a sectional game.
There is a bit of a personal history behind this game for Carroll Head Coach, Doug Dinan and Snider Head Coach Kurt Tippmann. Both were assistant coaches at Snider, learning under Fort Wayne legend, Russ Isaacs. With Coach Tippmann taking the reins at Snider, and Coach Dinan taking over at Carroll within two years of one another, this will be the first time the two friends have coached against one another.
