FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Ten thousand people are expected to run in next week’s Fort 4 Fitness races. That means roads closed and even more people in the downtown area. Fort4Fitness expects in addition to 10,000 racers there will be another 10,000 spectators and 1,000 volunteers.
It’s an annual race that started in 2008, and for the past seven years has been encouraging people to make healthy life choices to improve their level of fitness.
The half marathon, 10K, 4-mile run is on Saturday, Sept. 26.
- Half-marathon- begins at 8:30 a.m.
- 10K run/walk- begins at 7:30 a.m.
- 4-mile run/ walk- begins at 10:30 a.m.
Registration for those races will stay open until midnight Sept. 23.
People can pick up their race packet at Parkview Field from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.
For a list of parking options, visit the Fort4Fitness website. The organization expects in the next week to release a list of roads that will be closed during the race time. They will post those closures on their website.
