A check of the WANE.com Gas Gauge Tuesday afternoon showed multiple stations selling gas for $1.99 with about a dozen more setting the price at $2.01.

On Monday, analysts with GasBuddy, which provides the data for Gas Gauge, indicated that gas prices were expected to fall faster than previously predicted.  Part of the drop has been attributed to the end of the summer driving season and upcoming switch from summer formulated gas to winter formulated gas which is cheaper for refineries to produce.

As of Monday according to GasBuddy, gas prices in Indiana were nearly $1.30 a gallon cheaper than they were a year ago.
