Coach Freeborn Honored, But Blackhawk Falls To Canterbury

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Blackhawk coach Bob Freeborn was honored for recently coaching his 500th career game for the Braves, but it was Canterbury’s night as the 2A no. 2 Cavaliers topped 1A no. 13 Blackhawk 4-2.

Logan Sheiber found the net first, giving Canterbury a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. Just 50 seconds later Scheiber found the back of the net again to make it 2-0 en route to the victory.

Freeborn, meanwhile, coached his 500th game at Blackhawk on August 25. He’s been the varsity coach at Blackhawk since 1985.
