Carroll Grad Tranquill Ready For Versatile Role With Irish

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WANE) – Former Carroll High School standout Drue Tranquill is healthy and hungry to hit the field in 2015.

His freshman season at Notre Dame was cut short due to a torn ACL suffered against Louisville November 22, 2014. As a true freshman last fall Tranquill racked up 33 tackles and started three games at safety for the Irish.

Tranquill, who is fully recovered from the knee injury, is expected to be used in a variety of ways in Brian VanGorder’s defense this season. The six-foot-one, 225-pounder could be used at safety and linebacker.

Notre Dame opens the 2015 season at home against Texas on September 5.
